My Story

Transforming Lives Starting With My Own

I enjoy inspiring people to achieve their own greatness because I understand what it is to be challenged by life and still thrive. We only get on shot at this. There should be no reason why we can't achieve our dreams. Challenges I faced early in life were very formative, and while at the time I didn't see it, I understand how those challenges shaped me into who I am today.

I grew up in Los Angeles California. I was raised alongside a younger sister and older deaf brother, we faced the challenges of our mother's terminal illness and our father's struggles in raising us on his own. Tragedy struck when our family lost everything, including our home and our father's successful businesses, due to his drug use.  Two weeks before I was to graduate high school, my father was paralyzed from the neck down from an ocean accident. He swam out to rescue a girl and when he came back to shore, he was struck by a wave.

Two weeks after my fathers tragic accident I joined the Marines at 17 years old. Just two months after my father’s accident, I faced the loss of my mother while in bootcamp. Despite being the youngest of 40,000 Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, I prioritized my education and became the only Marine on base ranked LCpl or below to earn an AA degree in 1992.

After an Honorable discharge, I was accepted to my dream school, the University of Southern California, with a 3.7 GPA.  Prior to graduation from the Marshall School of Business, I bicycled across America to benefit handicapped children. This was important to me because of what my family had endured and a promise I made to my father. When I was 16 years old I borrowed my fathers bicycle and when it was stolen, instead of being angry he bought me my dream bicycle. I told him that one day we could bike across America together.

I share my story to inspire. I believe that with focus and determination, we can overcome any obstacle to achieve our dreams. I am here to support you on your journey towards personal growth, and I look forward to the opportunity to work together and help you do the same.
